Medicare and Social Security are promises made in return for a life of hard work. They are guarantees of a dignified and secure retirement. Americans have paid into these initiatives with every paycheck, and we must honor these earned benefits. However, the high costs of healthcare and prescription drugs force Kentucky’s seniors to continue to work, and retire, into poverty.
I promise to honor all seniors and fight against the privatization of Social Security and any kind of roll-backs of Medicare. I will fight to make these programs more efficient and greater accessibility. I will prioritize affordable senior housing and remodel long-term care services so that seniors always have the option of living safely and comfortably at home.
